COVID-19 In The USA: Latest Updates

The world is still suffering from the respiratory epidemic. As of today, the plague of COVID-19 sickened more than 165 million people worldwide by causing death to 3.4 million people.

It’s more than a year after many of the countries entered strict lockdowns designed to drop the numbers of daily confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus. The effects of this disastrous and fatal pandemic on nearly every corner of the globe will be seen for years.

The desire to live a near-normal life and deep dissonance feeling continue to accompany people all over the world. As several countries see a disastrous resurgence in increasing coronavirus cases, in an effort to help slow the spread of coronavirus disease many countries have imposed strict restrictions. Though there are countries that abolish some coronavirus-related restrictions.

The United States crossed the 33 million COVID-19 case threshold. More than 601 hundred people have died so far. Among the states, California, Texas, Florida, New York and Illinois are the top 5 countries that have the most confirmed cases. Furthermore, it has become the country’s third-leading cause of death.

Nevertheless, some states require mask-wearing and social distancing measures for companies that are allowed to open. In addition, there still are some kind of restrictions and caveats on the entry of certain travelers into the country.

Worth mentioning that vaccination brings hope for suppressing the spread of coronavirus. COVID-19 vaccine distribution began in the U.S. on December 14. About thirty-one percent of the American population is fully vaccinated. It’s supposed to reach eighty-five percent of the fully vaccinated population by the end of August.

So, fully vaccinated people follow revised mask use guidelines – they do not need to wear a mask outdoors, except in crowded settings. Hence, after vaccination, they receive the certification document in digital or paper format that will attest that a person has been vaccinated against coronavirus. Currently, some countries require tourists to have that certification or a recent negative test result taken within the previous seventy-two hours.

For more than a year everyone has been interested in when things will go back to normal. According to some reliable sources, hopefully, the U.S. would return to normal by the end of this year.
